9 Weeks to Go – The #ASB11 Conference Is Fast Approaching!
Partnership working is at the heart of effective ASB case management – and the strongest partnerships are built around a shared commitment to the people at the centre of the case.
Listening to the victim voice helps agencies:
- Identify the real impact of the behaviour
- Tailor interventions that address both safety and wellbeing
- Build trust that encourages continued engagement
- Achieve longer-term, positive outcomes
Two sessions at #ASB11 will give you practical tools and insight to strengthen this approach:
The Victim Voice – Chair: Charlie Hamilton Kay, ASB Help
A powerful session sharing first-hand accounts from victims – through in-person contributions, recorded videos, and written statements – to spotlight the emotional and practical realities of antisocial behaviour. You’ll hear what has helped or hindered their experiences and explore how services can respond more effectively.
The Art of Conversation – Speakers: Matt Baird, Kim Logan, Oliver Henry, Jon Bull, Charlie Hamilton Kay, and a Resident Representative
Bringing together specialists and those with lived experience, this discussion tackles how we communicate with residents. From managing expectations and conflict to the language we use and its lasting impact, the session will explore strategies for building resilience and fostering constructive dialogue.

Top Tip - Communication Is Key To Drive Change Positively
The upcoming Crime and Policing Bill is set to reshape how frontline teams work – from enforcement powers to victim engagement. It’s one of the most significant changes we’ve seen in years, and it’s going to have a real impact on how ASB is delivered day-to-day.
Jack Madge – ASB practitioner, Associate and panellist at this year’s #ASB11 Conference, has a clear approach to leading through change gained from his experience and leadership in the field:
“Communicate the ‘why’ clearly.”
When teams understand what’s changing, why it matters, and how it affects their work, they’re more likely to engage, adapt, and deliver.
Here are Jack’s five practical tips for making that happen:
- Make it relatable. Use real examples, link it to purpose, and explain how it connects to compliance and victim voice.
- Attitude Changes Things. Bring a can-do mindset to change – it’s contagious.
- Invite feedback. Frontline staff aren’t just part of the service – they are the service.
- Be clear and consistent. Use multiple channels and communicate early.
- Show alignment. Help your team see how this change fits with your mission and values.
Jack will be sharing more insight on this at the #ASB11 Conference during our panel on the Crime and Policing Bill chaired by Kuljit Bhogal KC and featuring other experts including Lindsay Felstead, Jo Grimshaw and Paul Murphy.
Your Weekly Round-Up with Janine & Darren
This week has been all about balancing the here-and-now with what’s just around the corner.
On the day-to-day side, we’ve been supporting organisations with live cases – everything from reviewing investigation plans to helping teams tighten up their record keeping. Those practical conversations always remind us how much good partnership working can change the outcome for victims which is this weeks focus in the countdown for the #ASB11 Conference.
Talking of which… planning has stepped up another gear. We’ve been finalising session content, confirming panellists, and making sure that every part of the agenda delivers real value. The Liverpool Fringe Event is also taking shape – don’t forget to secure your place as it’s going to be a great evening with a proper mix of honest conversation, sector expertise, and time to connect informally after a full on day at the summit.
If you’re back from your summer holidays and starting to think about the next quarter and your personal development then our signature Level 2 ASB Case Management Principles course is open for enrolment for September. We’re looking forward to another day of sharing practical tools and hearing how delegates are making a difference on the ground. Spaces are already 50% reserved for this cohort so book now to ensure you start the autumn with CPD high on the agenda.
Have a great week,
Janine and Darren
