Tensions Begin To Ease Following The Southport Tragedy – How Do We Move On?
It has been two weeks since the tragic stabbings in Southport, where three young girls lost their lives, and which ignited a wave of violence and anti-social behaviour across the country. These disturbances have resulted in significant damage to local businesses, including looting, arson, and clashes with the police, leading to multiple injuries among officers and bystanders. The situation has left communities reeling, with efforts now focused on rebuilding and healing.
In the aftermath, the role of policing, legislation and effective prevention strategies have been significantly in debate. Our partner Darren has penned an insightful opinion piece on the tools available to ASB professionals to tackle such complex issues and promoting inclusion. He explores whether the current measures are sufficient and discusses the importance of community awareness in the effectiveness of these strategies. Read Darren’s full thoughts and analysis and let us know what impact there has been on you as an ASB professional…
