Crime & Policing Bill Survey – Final Call
If you haven’t yet completed our Crime & Policing Bill ASB Roundtable Survey, now’s the time!
Working in partnership with JUSTICE, we’re gathering insight from ASB professionals across housing, policing, and community safety to ensure frontline experiences are reflected in a formal response to government.
The survey closes this Friday, 29 March, and your views will directly inform the recommendations we make around:
- Respect Orders, Youth Injunctions and Housing Injunctions
- Closure Powers for social landlords
- The balance of enforcement vs prevention
- Barriers to effective multi-agency working
Whether you manage ASB cases day to day, lead a service, or work alongside enforcement teams – your voice matters.
We would really appreciate if you could spare 10 minutes to complete the survey and contribute to meaningful change.

How can we best tackle reports of nuisance arising from the use of prescribed cannabis? Join us for this timely and practical session, where we’ll explore the challenges facing housing and ASB professionals and what action can (and should) be taken.
We’re delighted to confirm that Mike Morgan-Giles, CEO of the Cannabis Industry Council, will be joining our expert panel. Mike will be sharing insights and addressing key questions from frontline practitioners, including:
- What evidence can a resident provide to show they have a lawful prescription?
- Are CanCards legitimate?
- How is prescription cannabis typically administered?
- What practical steps can be taken to manage reports from neighbours?
Mike joins a fantastic speaker line-up, including:
Jo Grimshaw (Head of ASB, Surrey Police)
Lindsay Felstead (Partner, Clarke Willmott)
Charlie Hamilton-Kay (Deputy CEO, ASB Help)
We’re also delighted to confirm another brilliant speaker: Clare Paterson, an expert in data protection, who will help us navigate some of the common legal and ethical questions around health-related nuisance reports, including:
- Can we insist a resident provides evidence of a disability?
- What can we share with the neighbour or person making the report?

Janine & Darren’s Round Up
As the clocks go forward and we edge closer to the end of the financial year, it’s been another packed week across the sector and for our team here at Green & Burton ASB Associates…
We’re in the final days of the Crime & Policing Bill survey, and we’ve already seen some fascinating insights coming through. It’s clear there’s strong sector appetite to ensure any new powers are workable, proportionate, and grounded in lived experience. If you haven’t yet shared your views, please do – it’s a chance to directly shape the conversation.
We’ve also launched registration for our prescription cannabis and ASB webinar, and the response has been phenomenal. With over 300 attendees signed up already, it’s great to see so many of you engaging in what’s clearly a complex and evolving area of practice. The panel line-up is one we’re really proud of – thoughtful, experienced, and ready to unpack the big questions.
And finally, we’re pleased to be introducing our new live course on unconscious bias. We know this is a subject that’s come up time and time again in case supervision, training, and peer learning – and this session is designed to provide the space and structure to explore it properly.
Wherever you are and whatever your role, we hope you find something useful in this week’s update. We are looking forward to bringing you the latest in our case study programme with an insight into Newcastle City Council’s recent successful Closure Order case next week so be sure to check your inbox for your newsletter.
Have a great week and as always – we’re only ever a message away if you want to pick up a conversation if we can help you or your organisation.
Janine & Darren
