ASB Support For You
There is still time to enrol in our upcoming webinar – over 300 have already signed up for the latest insights into vulnerability in the Social Housing Sector. We will be joined by Registered Housing Providers, ASB Specialists and Governance Solicitors to explore how we respond to vulnerabilities throughout the Social Housing Sector when investigating reports of ASB. We will share examples of how customer relationships have been successfully managed, demonstrate compliance and how to work collaboratively with other partner agencies to facilitate support.

New Survey Published
Baroness Newlove, the Victims’ Commissioner, is inviting victims of anti-social behaviour to participate in a new survey aimed at understanding their experiences. The survey seeks input from victims across England and Wales, regardless of when the incidents occurred. The gathered information will contribute to an upcoming report by the Victims’ Commissioner, informing her ongoing policy efforts to address issues raised by victims of anti-social behaviour. This initiative coincides with Baroness Newlove’s advocacy for improved support for victims of persistent anti-social behaviour, as reflected in the Victims and Prisoners Bill currently under consideration in Parliament.
Baroness Newlove emphasised the importance of directly hearing from victims, acknowledging the significant impact anti-social behaviour can have on their lives. The survey aims to ensure that victims feel heard, respected, and supported when seeking assistance.

Darren’s Thoughts: While it is really important that the victims of ASB feel that they are heard and respected, what is of paramount importance is what happens with the information. What we can’t risk is another survey being done for the sake of it, when there is an opportunity to spearhead meaningful change with the upcoming Victims and Prisoners bill which is currently under consideration.
The Housing Ombudsman Opens Applications For The Resident Panel
The Housing Ombudsman Resident Panel has opened applications, offering an opportunity to contribute, shape, and improve social housing services. Panel members can share their experiences, participate in shaping services through regular meetings and feedback channels, stay informed about the Ombudsman’s initiatives, and engage with their local community to raise awareness. Richard Blakeway, the Housing Ombudsman, highlights the importance of resident input in enhancing services and mentions the panel’s significant role in projects like the Complaint Handling Code.
