New Training Courses Now Live!
As winter approaches, we’re closing out the year with three new training opportunities designed to build confidence and capability across ASB and neighbourhood management practice. Whether you’re refreshing your approach or looking to gain a formal qualification, these new online sessions offer practical insight and clear takeaways you can put straight into use.
Applying Judge Craft to ASB Case Management
26 November 2025 | 9:30am – 12:00pm | £179
Delivered by partner Janine Green, this course brings a fresh perspective to ASB case management. Drawing on the principles used in judicial training, it focuses on fair decision-making, impartiality and effective communication – helping officers strengthen confidence in their professional judgement and improve outcomes for residents.
Level 2 ASB Case Management Principles (Accredited)
2 December 2025 | 9:30am – 4:00pm | £199
The go-to foundation for ASB practitioners. Developed by Green & Burton ASB Associates and delivered in partnership with LBL Skills, this qualification provides a structured framework for effective case management. Expect clear guidance, practical examples, and an assessment that builds assurance in your knowledge and decision-making.
Effective Good Neighbourhood Management
9 December 2025 | 9:30am – 12:30pm | £129
Noise, neighbour disputes and borderline ASB cases can quickly erode trust if not managed well. This new course unpacks the Housing Ombudsman’s Spotlight on Noise themes, showing how to triage reports effectively, manage expectations and strengthen community relationships led by experienced associate Katy Anderson.
You can explore all courses and book your place via the website.

Homelessness Funding Injection
The government has announced an additional £150 million for the Rough Sleeping Initiative, aimed at supporting councils to prevent and respond to homelessness over the winter period.
While the funding is a welcome step, sector leaders have already raised concerns about the short-term nature of the allocation and the challenges of delivering sustainable support when funding continues to be time-limited.
The announcement follows growing pressure from local authorities and charities who have warned that demand for temporary accommodation has reached record levels. With homelessness projected to rise again this winter, stability in funding remains a key concern for housing and community safety teams alike.
For practitioners on the frontline, this reinforces the need for partnership approaches, particularly between housing, community safety, health and voluntary sector teams, to make sure support is coordinated and targeted where it’s needed most.

Alliance for Youth Justice Report on Exploitation
The Alliance for Youth Justice (AYJ) has published a new policy briefing, From Exploited to Exploiter?, highlighting how young people transitioning from childhood to adulthood are falling through gaps in safeguarding and support.
The report warns that victims of child criminal exploitation often continue to be at risk after turning 18 but are no longer recognised as victims. Instead, they can face prosecution as perpetrators – or even exploiters – despite ongoing coercion and harm.
AYJ calls for a developmentally informed, trauma-aware approach that bridges the divide between child and adult safeguarding systems. The report identifies ten principles for improving practice, including long-term support beyond age 18, collaboration between agencies, and rejecting the simplistic “victim or perpetrator” divide that still dominates policy and decision-making.
For community safety and housing teams, the findings are a timely reminder that many of the same vulnerabilities present in youth ASB and exploitation cases don’t stop at legal adulthood, but rather they evolve. Understanding that transition point is key to effective prevention and safeguarding.
You can read the full report on the AYJ website.

National Mentoring Day – 27 October 2025
Monday marks National Mentoring Day, recognising the value of mentoring in building confidence, capability and connection across all professions.
At Green & Burton, mentoring is a key part of how we help officers and organisations strengthen their ASB practice. Our one-to-one mentoring provides space to reflect on complex cases, build decision-making confidence and translate learning into day-to-day work.
Sometimes the most powerful development doesn’t come from a course, but from a conversation.
At Green & Burton, mentoring is a key part of how we help officers and organisations strengthen their ASB practice. Our one-to-one mentoring provides space to reflect on complex cases, enhance decision-making, build confidence, translate learning into day-to-day work and support career development aspirations.

Janine & Darren’s Weekly Round Up
It’s hard to believe it’s already been a week since #ASB11. After months of planning, seeing so many familiar faces and new connections come together for a day of genuine collaboration was a real highlight. The conversations haven’t stopped since, and neither has the pace!
This week has been all about keeping that energy going. We’ve launched three new training courses and continued our consultancy support across the country. It’s been a real testament to how committed the sector is to strengthening practice and partnership in equal measure.
Thank you again to everyone who joined us at #ASB11 and to those already getting involved in what comes next. It is half term across the country either this week or next (or both for some!) and so we thought we would give our newsletter a one week break next week too as we refresh ready for the end of the year. Watch out in your inbox for the start of November when we will be back with a bumper edition for you!
Thank you as always for all of your support,
Janine & Darren
