Date: 15.10.24

Time: 9:15 AM – 05.00 PM

Duration: 8 hours

Location: Thestudio, B2 5EP

You are invited to join us to celebrate the 10th Birthday of the ASB, Crime and Policing Act 2014!

The ASB, Crime and Policing Act 2014 was the biggest overhaul to the ASB toolkit in recent times – what has it achieved, what have we learnt and what does the future look like?

Join the team at Green & Burton ASB Associates for our 2nd annual conference. This time we’re making things even bigger and even better!

Taking place in-person, in a central location in Birmingham City Centre, the event is packed full of expert speakers, interactive sessions, fringe events and networking opportunities.

Aimed at all ASB partners, including Police, Housing and Local Authorities, the event sessions will include:

  • A focus on the ASB injunction, including some of the common application challenges and how this can be reduced/overcome
  • A roundtable exploring the Community Protection Notice, hearing from practitioners in local authority and policing, housing providers who have delegated authority to use the tool, a law reform charity and a practitioner from Youth Justice.
  • A look back on the closure powers and hearing what practitioners would do differently if they could go back a decade and share their experiences of using the tool.
  • The Big Debate – the Public Spaces Protection Order vs Persons Unknown Injunctions?
  • An audience takeover where you get to watch an ASB case review and interact with what you see
  • Focussing on the future – what’s to come, what should be doing now to prepare and what should we be campaigning for?

In addition, there will be ample networking time and “lunch and learn” fringe sessions hosted by the Green & Burton ASB Associates team on topics such as preparing for the Neighbourhood & Community Standard, best practice developments in relation to victim risk assessments and an ASB surgery live!

Confirmed speakers include:

Kuljit Bhogal KC – Barrister at Cornerstone and author of “Cornerstone on ASB”

Sarah Bradley – Director at Consillium Training

Craig Kendall – ASB Manager at Hyde Housing
